| What
is a Home Wedding Registry? The
home wedding registry is similar to traditional wedding registries that
are available at major department stores. What makes this registry
unique and different is that it is designed to assist you in obtaining
the down payment to purchase a home.
How
does it work?
1. You fill
out and submit the registry and prequalify form prior to your
consultation. This allows us to review what programs and buying
options you qualify for at your consultation.
2. Set up an
appointment to review the program with the consultant.
3. Set up
your interest bearing, Federally-insured savings account with our
participating bank partner, Cape Bank.
4. You
are now ready to start saving for your down payment. You are
placed on the website, registry cards are given to you to send out with
any shower or wedding invitations. This allows friends and family
to give you a monetary gift online that is deposited into your savings
account.
5. The
program is designed to help you reach your savings goals, i.e. monetary
gifts from family, friends combined with your savings can really help
you save enough for a down payment!
6. A
gift list is given to the wedding couple for thank you cards.
7. The
wedding couple complete their home "wish list" (a list of
features you want in a home).
8.
After returning from the honeymoon, we will review your savings to see
if you have achieved your goal amount in savings. If not, the
program does have additional savings ideas to get you to your
goal. You will start the buying process, select the house and
apply your down payment from the interest bearing account and close on
your home. This is a complete financial plan that takes both the
wedding couple and our consultant's commitment in getting your results.
9. If
you have to relocate to another part of the state, or move out-of-state,
we refer you to an agent from that area who will work with you in
finding a home to meet your expectations. The funds are
transferred to you for the closing.
10.
$150 registration and processing fee is required after the consultation
when you commit to the program.
