Planning:
I wouldn't have had a wedding without my mom. If it
had been left for me to do all the planning Patrick and I
might have eloped or run off to an island. But my mom's
a big social planner and she ran with everything. She
was amazing. She even made our invitations with tiffany
blue Ribbon and chocolate brown to match our colors.
Centerpieces:
We
used white Cape May pitchers filled with blue Hydrangeas,
yellow roses and natural greenery. Kate's did all of the
flowers and did a breathtaking job.
Placecards:
We made cards from the same paper as our invitations and
placed them under blue ribbon provided by Congress
Hall - simple but elegant.
We Used the Internet:
What
didn't I use the internet for. I used the Knot a lot and
many other websites. Sometimes the best ideas come from
other brides. We got the majority of our ideas from
websites. We wrote our own ceremony and I used the
internet to get ideas for making a unique ceremony that
reflected our spiritual values vs. a traditional ceremony.
The internet was a huge tool!
Rehearsal
Dinner: The Grand
The
only thing that went wrong, if you can call it that, is that
four days before our wedding the place we had reserved for our
rehearsal dinner, The Lobster House, caught fire.
But the coordinator for The Lobster House was great. She
even called my mother-in-law while the restaurant was on fire!
And, we ended up having the rehearsal dinner at The
Grand and they were very accommodating. It all
turned out great!
