Theme/Colors/Decorations:
We didn't really do a theme but we tried to incorporate roses into both the ceremony and reception. Roses were the first flowers Bill gave me so my bouquet was all roses and my bridesmaid's had roses in fall colors. Click here to view photo of bouquet. The centerpieces were a dozen multi-colored roses in the same colors as the bridesmaid's bouquets. We lined the bottom of the vases with seashells for a beach/seashore look. We Saved Money By:
We saved money by making our own programs on the computer and we made our own favors. For favors we made a charity donation to M.S. for Bill's grandmother. Because of the disease she was unable to attend our ceremony, so we used the MS Hope bracelets to honor her. We put the red hope bracelets in an organza bag for each guest as a favor.
Planning:
We made a whole weekend out of our wedding. My Aunt's friend let us use her house for the couple days before the wedding. I stayed there with my family at the house and Bill stayed at The Grand Hotel. It was really nice to have a place to bring all our stuff.
How We Met:
We met on our first job in Manahawkin. I'm a teacher and Bill works in the computer department at the same school.

Best Parts:
I think the wedding ceremony and then leaving the church in the horse & carriage together were probably the best parts. The carriage right after the ceremony gave us 1/2 hour to 45 minutes alone together riding through historic Cape May and it gave us time to enjoy ourselves and not feel rushed. The whole reason we chose Cape May is because we were engaged on Long Beach Island and then spent the weekend of our engagement in Cape May. Even though we live 1/2 hour away, you don't even feel like you're in New Jersey in Cape May.
Another part of our wedding that was really special was when some of my dance students performed at the reception. One of my friends choreographed a ballet/modern dance routine for my students and they performed that about halfway through the reception.
Honeymoon:
We took a mini-honeymoon for the weekend after the wedding and stayed at a bed and breakfast in Cape May called Rhythym of the Sea. Then a few weeks later we were able to take a week off to go to Mexico. We went to Playa Del Carmen and stayed at an all-inclusive resort called Royal Porto Real.
Tips for Brides To Be:
Plan in advance and even though you might get a lot of great ideas from books and on the internet, try to incorporate things that are meaningful to you into your wedding day. In our wedding the roses and the favors in honor of Bill's grandmother helped make the day even more meaningful to us as a couple.
