What
were a few of the favorite things you did?
There were so many - we pack so much into every trip we take -
but here are a few:
Circumnavigating Bora Bora and Moorea by scooter, Scuba Diving
in Bora Bora (the most scenic dive I have made), sunset cruise
on a catamaran in Moorea (and getting caught in a storm) our
farmstay experience in Tapanui, the glowworm cave tour in
Waitomo, "zorbing" in Rotorua, all of our bungee
jumps in and around Queenstown, and paragliding and
hanggliding near Queenstown.

What
was the most romantic place?
Our fare on the beach in Bora Bora. (Fare means house or home in
Polynesian). Our "room" at the hotel - called a
fare' - was more like a house - complete with a living room, master
bath, master bedroom, and sitting room. It was incredible and
was right on the beach. Every night we received
"surprises" in our room - French pastries, champagne,
chocolate covered strawberries, etc...Even a lizard or two (I don't
think that was planned - but what the hell, it was cool!!)
What
were your favorite restaurants?
Top Dive in Bora Bora for breakfast (the best pancakes!), Hotel Bora
Bora (incredible French cuisine!), Alfredo's in Moorea, Poppy's in
Rotorua, Vudu Cafe in Queenstown, Fish Bone in Queenstown and The
Huka Lodge in Taupo (you have to be a guest at the Huka to dine
there).
Did
you try any unusual or exotic food or drinks?
Tahiti - Poisson Cru (marinated fish - the national delicacy)
in Bora Bora, coconut milkshakes at the Hotel Bora Bora, and coconut
surprise (drink) in Bora Bora.
New Zealand: Whitebait smelts (tiny fish - similar in
appearance to smelts).

Were
there any good clubs or places for nightlife?
Did they have
music?
Bora Bora and Moorea have very little nightlife and virtually
no clubs. It is pretty much desolate which is great if you
want to get away from it all but not great if you're looking for a
party. Hawaii, it is not! For example, we saw maybe
one or two people on "our" beach in Bora Bora the whole
time we were there!
We saw a native dance show on the beach at our hotel (Hotel Bora
Bora)
There are some really cool pubs in Queenstown.
Where
did you stay?
None of the places we stayed were all-inclusive. The best
places we stayed were: Hotel Bora Bora in Bora Bora and The Huka Lodge in Taupo,
NZ. Absolutely incredible - both of them! Once in a
lifetime destinations - service beyond compare. If I had to
pick one...not an easy task...I would pick the Huka Lodge.
It is an experience that few people will ever have...but should!
Was
there one particular place, restaurant or excursion that stood out
above all others as a favorite thing you did?
The Nevis Highwire bungee jump outside of Queenstown - a 440' drop
- it is the highest in New Zealand. The Huka Lodge
experience, and our farmstay experience at Tapanui Country Home.
Is there anything else you want to add about your honeymoon; an
unusual story, tips for other couples going to New Zealand, fun
trips, etc...
Our private tour of Rotorua and area including the hot springs and
mud pools. The tour was conducted by "Sonny" from
"Sonny's Tours." He is a Maori (the native
people of New Zealand) and was a great tour guide. The
entire experience was great...highly, highly recommended! We
also really liked our snorkel trip in Bora Bora - petting manta
rays and feeding sharks.
