Harpist Barbara Bew Crowley commenced her study of
Harp, at age sixteen, with world renowned Harpist Carlos Salzedo.
Thereafter, Barbara continued her study with acclaimed harpists Edna
Philips, Alice Chalifoux and Lucille Lawrence. Trained in classical
repertoire, Barbara decided fifteen years ago to diversify her musical
presentation and started studying popular harp with the late Robert
Barlow and presently with Raymond Pool in New New York City.
"Musicians never seem to stop studying"
says Barbara. The result is significant, however, since Barbara can
present a strictly classical program, or a totally popular presentation,
or a combination of both. Not all Harpists commit to such a
challenge. Barbara also teaches elementary school music at Ocean Township
School District. After school it's "Have Harp,
will travel," quips Barbara.
