The Main Event is owned and operated by a non-denominational pastor of the Universal Life Church. We will perform a simple standard ceremony or we will help you create a personalized ceremony complete with your own vows, poems, songs, etc…

We perform many ceremonies for out-of-staters who want to be married in New Jersey. We have done weddings in churches, on the beach, at your reception site, in parks or in your home or garden. We are based on the principle of keeping it simple and elegant yet without all the problems that come with different faiths coming together. We help you pull different aspects of what both the bride and groom want together to come up with a harmonious ceremony that will be fulfilling for both parties.

1. We provide a free phone consultation to determine exactly what both the bride and groom would like included in their ceremony.

2. We provide you with a written version of what your ceremony will be and the words that will be used and then await your approval or make any necessary changes.

4. Thirty to three days prior to your ceremony we instruct you on how to apply for your license, what paperwork your must have and if necessary provide a witness at the appropriate city hall in order for you to obtain your marriage license.

5. The day of the ceremony we have all the paperwork completed and instruct your witnesses on what they are to do during your ceremony.

6. The following day we file your license with city hall and then two weeks later we send you a letter to forward to city hall in order to obtain your marriage certificate.

We understand the costs of getting married today and have made our rates completive so the major portion of your budget will be used for your wedding and not simply the ceremony. Everyone is not charged the same rate. Depending on the complexity of what our clients need is how we charge for our services.
