Wedding Spotlight

How we Met:

I was working at Cafe D'Amici.  Bill played at their coffee house.  One night I said "Does anybody really know what time it is" and Bill answered "Does anybody really care?"   - the exact lyrics of a Chicago song.  He was the only person I knew my age who actually knew who Chicago was.  We started dating after that.  Our first date was on the 42nd Street Beach in Ocean City.  On our very first date Bill was humming "Colour My World."  Four years later we were engaged on the beach where we had our first date.

First Dance:
"Colour My World" - Chicago

Theme:
We had a Disney theme.  The tables were all named after parks or rides in Disneyworld and our wedding cake top was Mickey & Minnie Mouse.  On the placecards everyone was assigned a table such as Epcot Center or Magic Kingdom.

Disc Jockey:
Bob DePersia
"...was really great.  He searched around for a Mickey Mouse hat & Disney songs because he knew we were going to Disney World."

Father/Daughter Dance: "I Will Always Be Right There" - Bryan Adams

Mother/Son Dance:
"Song For My Son"

We Saved
Money By:

We made our own candle centerpieces.

Best Part:  The best part was the exchanging of vows.

Funniest Parts: Bill paused during the vows and totally zoned out.  The pastor had to repeat the vows to him to urge him on.  The other funny part was during the bouquet toss.  My sister practically knocked down one of the other girls to get the bouquet.

Wedding Favors: We tied a toile bow around a book of wedding quotes called From This Day Forward by Susan Wales & Ann Platz and had one book for each couple.

We used the internet to:
get ideas and found our photographer on AtlanticCityWeddings.com.

Tip for Other Brides:
Make sure your bridesmaids try on their dresses when they pick them up.  Two of my bridesmaids went on the Atkins diet about 4-5 weeks before the wedding.  We had already had the final fitting and Marilyn at Something Old, Something New told everyone not to gain or lose any weight.  The dresses all fit perfectly.  Well, both bridesmaids lost about 20 lbs and neither realized how much they lost because they didn't get on a scale.  Two weeks before the wedding we picked up the dresses and they still didn't try on the dresses not realizing how much weight they lost.  The day of the wedding my mom had to pin the dresses because both bridesmaids lost so much weight.   So, make sure your bridesmaids try on the dresses when they pick them up.
